Overview

The Bentayga Atelier Edition is a design-focused, special-edition SUV. It gives you the opportunity to commission a vehicle with an exclusive colour scheme, offering a seamless journey from the outside to the inside of the car.

‘Atelier Edition’ emblems are featured on the exterior and inside the cabin, while further unique features include 22” Atelier Edition wheels.

Design

While you have access to every Bentley paint colour, the designers at the Bentley factory in Crewe have recommended six exterior colours for you to choose from: Quartzite, Porcelain, Rubino, Light Emerald, Light Onyx and the new Obsidian Crystal, which combines champagne-coloured glass flakes with a deep black, resulting in a finish that shimmers beautifully in the light.

The front grille combines bright chrome vertical vanes with a Hallmark satin matrix behind them, to complement the bright chrome lower grilles and satin bumper valances. The imposing 22” 10-spoke wheels feature an exclusive finish created for the Atelier Edition, that combines bright machined faces with Tungsten pockets and a satin finish. Tungsten satin wing vents bear the words ‘Atelier Edition’ and when you open the door, the light show projected onto the ground by the Animated Welcome Lamps culminates with the ‘Atelier Edition’ emblem.

As you enter the cabin, stepping over the illuminated Atelier Edition treadplates, you will notice a wealth of additional exclusive features.

The contrast stitching on the Harmony Diamond Quilt, for example, has been designed specifically to draw your attention to the large diamond shapes in the design.

Whichever exterior colour you choose, selecting one of the six recommended secondary hide colours – Beluga, Burnt Oak, Cricket Ball, Imperial Blue, Gravity Grey or Cumbrian Green – will ensure that it matches the piano-painted gloss veneers on the centre console and picnic tables. The same colour will also be used for the trims that surround the veneered panels, as well as the stitching and the piping. The result is an interior like no other – and if you also choose one of the six recommended exterior colours, you will enjoy a truly seamless journey from the outside to the inside.



Performance

The Bentayga Atelier Edition is available with a twin-turbocharged, 4.0 litre V8 engine or a 3.0 litre turbocharged V6 plug-in hybrid. The V8 can deliver 542 bhp and 770 Nm of torque, taking you from 0-60 mph in as little as 4.4 seconds, and on to a top speed of 180 mph (290 km/h). The hybrid, meanwhile, has a top speed of 158 mph (254 km/h), with CO2 emissions of just 71 g/km . You can even use it to drive on electric power only for up to 28 miles (45 km).

The V8 version features Bentley Dynamic Ride, a 48-volt anti-roll system that helps prevent the cabin from rolling when cornering at speed, without jeopardising the supremely comfortable ride you expect when driving in a straight line. All-Wheel Steering is also fitted, offering a reduced turning circle, as well as smoother lane changes at speed.



Technology

The Bentayga Atelier Edition has its own Wi-Fi hotspot, for sharing its internet connection with any devices in the car. It also supports the wired and wireless versions of Apple CarPlay* and Android Auto**, so you can access smartphone apps on the move. My Bentley App Studio, on the other hand, lets you download apps from a selection curated by Bentley directly to the car’s infotainment system. This means you won’t need to use your phone at all, and the apps will have full access to data from the car, such as range and fuel levels (useful for navigation apps, for example).

A smart air conditioning system improves interior air quality and helps reduce the number of PM2.5 particles you and your passengers are exposed to. It monitors the atmosphere inside and outside the cabin, showing the readings on the ‘Air Quality’ panel on the central touchscreen. It also models the CO₂ concentration in your car. If levels are low outside, clean air is drawn in, but if the air outside is heavily contaminated, it will automatically recirculate the air inside, instead.

Every seat offers heating, ventilation and massage, plus two features designed specifically to improve your wellbeing on long journeys. Postural Adjust, varies the pressure on your muscles using air pockets located inside each seat, to reduce stiffness. Seat Auto Climate uses sensors to monitor the humidity and temperature of each seat, then responds using the heating and ventilation functions, to keep you feeling comfortable at all times.

The City Specification is installed as standard. Designed to make driving in towns and cities easier and safer, it is a package of driver assistance systems that can help you avoid collisions. It can give you a full 360-degree view around the car from the various cameras and it can even help you park. With the My Bentley app on your phone, you can even get out before you begin and use the app to control the parking manoeuvre while you watch.

Available as an optional addition, the Touring Specification is a package of assistance systems aimed at making longer drives easier. It adds a head-up display, night vision camera and a suite of advanced features including Adaptive Cruise Control with Lane Guidance and Predictive Adaptive Cruise Control. Personalisation

You can choose any colour from Bentley’s range of exterior paints, however if you choose one of the six suggested colours – Quartzite, Porcelain, Rubino, Light Emerald, Obsidian Crystal or Light Onyx – a matching colour can also be used inside, for a truly harmonious experience.

The Atelier Edition’s unique interior colour scheme allows for one of six piano-painted veneer colours to be used along the centre of the cabin and on the picnic tables in the rear, in contrast to the veneers you choose for the fascia and the doors.

You can choose any option from Bentley’s range of hide colours for the seats. The secondary hide colour – which features on the top of the dashboard and runs down the centre console into the rear of the cabin – will match the colour of the piano veneers, the contrast stitching and the piping on the seats. Even the edging that holds the veneered panels in place is finished in the same colour, rather than the standard chrome.
